Why is a Mobile Phone best for Remote Control?
CampSecure
Security when Camping Alone.
The CampSecure system provides two alarm zones and two voltage-free output relays.
One of the NC zone circuits is envisaged as monitoring a tripwire that forms the campsite's perimeter, and the second can be used to monitor a PIR for close-in heat detection.
Available add-ons:
The App
Basic control equivalent to what is available on the ewiks switch panel
Measure the Tow Bar Weight
The stirrup can support either the jockey wheel of the jockey's jack screw to read the weight and display it on the mobile phone screen. The app corrects for the jockey wheel's position relative to the tow bar.
Remote Control for Caravan Mover
(Entry Level. Uses existing mover switchgear)
A Remote Control Unit and Android mobile phone app that duplicates the function of the ewiks handheld control panel. Control can be switched between 2 connected controllers. Inch mode delivers very short power pulses for small motor movements.
Low cost and easily installed, it connects directly to the ewiks motor relays and can work in parallel with the ewiks control panel
Available extensions include:
The Controller
Low-cost and easy to install. Totally compatible with the ewiks toggle switch control panel
Continuous diplay of water tank volumes, gas cylinder weights, and digital temperature probes.
MotorPac and X4 Tandem Axle extension
Combo Turns
Holding down the Combo Turn button causes 50% power to be supplied to the motors on the inner radius. Motor currents are electronically limited to 30A max.
MotorPac Comprehensive Mover Control
Full direct control over mover motors incorporating electronic current ramping for SoftStart and differential motor power, required for radiused 4-wheel turns.
MOSFETs enable motor currents to be ramped up for SoftStart and ramped down when they reach safe limits as measured by Hall Effect current sensors.
Power can be applied differentially to mover motors to facilitate radiused turns, useful on all caravans and essential on dual axle models.
Motor temperatures can be monitored and overheating motors protected from damage by current reduction.
Available extensions include:
Differential Power
can be delivered to all motors in both directions by varying the slide controls
The Leveling Screen
8 Buttons control 4 motorised steadies in 2 directions. The spirit level cross hairs can be calibrated to zero any errors.
Levelation Caravan Leveler by Remote Control
An easy DIY project to add 12VDC gearmotors to your existing corner steadied, and an electronic control unit controlled remotely from your mobile phone. The motors used are top-quality units made in Italy and available in South Africa from several suppliers.
The mobile phone app has up and down buttons to control all 4 motors and a sensitive spirit level to guide you. You sit inside your caravan, lay the phone on a flat surface and press buttons until the cross-hairs zero.
To compensate for component errors in the phone the spirit level can be calibrated on a reference surface.
Motorising the steadies requires no sophisticated tools or special skills and can be done in your garage with just a drill, grinder and welder. There's a tutorial to assist you, and a video to show you what to expect.
Available extensions include:
The Motorised Steady
An easy DIY adaption converts your existing Winterhoff steady to a powerful motorised lifter
The Alarm Control Unit
Alarm zones can be disarmed by switch control. The System is armed remotely from the Mobile Phone
The contents of 2 water tanks, the weight of 2 gas cylinders and the battery voltage is continuously monitored.
VanSecure Gas & Intruder Alarms
Monitor two LPG gas detectors and four intruder alarm zones - one LPG gas detector for the Main Area and a second one for the gas cylinder Storage Compartment.
There are 4 intruder alarm zones supported, zones 1 to 3 are Normally Closed (require a continuous closed circuit to stay in the SAFE state, and zone 4 may be either Normally Closed or Normally Open to allow the use of a pressure mat.
To secure the side tent we offer an UltraSonic scanner which emits ultrasonic audio pulses that are echoed back to the scanner from a non-resilient surface such as a plastic curtain. An intruder coming between the scanner and the reflecting surface blocks the echo and generates an alarm condition.
To further secure the side tent a Passive Infrared Detector (PIR) may be mounted on a horizontal pole, such as the ridge pole, looking downward at the ground sheet, A heat source such as the head and shoulders of an intruder moving across the floor will be detected without the risk of canvas tent walls moving in the wind triggering false alarms.
Caravan water tank level indicator (dual tanks). The control unit can receive flow sensor data from two caravan flow meters. The sensors are inserted into the take-off hoses from the water tank(s). The capacity of the tanks is easily entered into the mobile phone and the outflow count is cleared when the tank(s) are filled. Thereafter the control unit keeps the mobile phone informed of the quantity of water used as well as the water remaining as a percentage of total capacity. The water usage monitoring continues when the mobile phone is off, or out of range.
The caravan alarm annunciation is by SMS sent to any designated mobile device, by local buzzer (which can be muted), and by screen reporting on a mobile phone within Bluetooth range, Intruder alarm zones can be individually disarmed and the entire system armed/disarmed remotely by a button on the screen of the mobile phone.
Each SMS message is numbered so that the received sequence is easy to read, and also to keep track of the depletion state of the SMS bundle purchased from the mobile phone network.
Available extensions include:
The Alarm System
is armed from the mobile phone. The percentage of water remaining in the tanks is shown. Pressing the Tank icon will display the actual quantity of litres withdrawn since last fill.
Below is an example of an SMS LPG Gas Alarm annunciation. Each SMS has a sequential serial number.
PneuMatic Complete
Controller Only
A remote control device and Android mobile phone app to inflate or deflate your tyres. In Manual Mode you control the compressor and deflator valve while sitting comfortably in your vehicle, or you can dial in a target pressure and tyre size in Auto Mode, and let the automatic tyre inflator do it for you.
Available either as a fully assembled ready-to-operate kit, which puts together all your tyre-related equipment including compressor, deflator, durable hose, tyre levers, repair kit, and backup equipment, or as a controller only, (a component to be integrated into a system by others).
Monitor your battery voltage on your mobile phone. Get a low-voltage warning when battery output drops below 11.7V.
At Rest
Target = 220kPa, 217 Seconds to run
A remote control for appliances such as pumps and lights. Communication is via Bluetooth with maximised range of up to 60 metres through antenna optimisation. A second, momentary contact relay is provided to engage, for instance, the generator's starter motor.
There is a temperature control extension which allows 230V power switching according to the input from a thermal probe. The output relay closes when the monitored temperature moves beyond preset limits. You set the limits and decide whether temperature should be raised, as with a heater driving towards the upper limit, or lowered, as with a fridge, working towards the lower threshold.
This device measures pressure before and after the turbocharger, and temperatures at four points around the intercooler, and transmits this data to an Android mobile phone app via Bluetooth. Discover how effective your turbo-intercooler system is under real highway driving conditions. The controller also continuously recalculates and reports on the turbo/intercooler performance as a percentage of maximum possible. There is a facility to operate a water-jet pump to experimentally enhance cooling.
A Remote Control for a 4x4 winch and Android mobile phone app. The remote winch control allows free movement up 50 metres from the vehicle using just your cellphone, for enhanced safety and versatility. The Remote Control unit can be housed in a plug-in box, or be built into the winch's electrical control compartment.
The vehicle's battery voltage is monitored and displayed on the screen of the mobile phone, as are the motor temperature and current draw.
